New York City Divorce lawyers are some of the most revered in the country. We consulted numerous sources, including but not limited to, Superlawyers, Martindale Hubbell, Avvo, New York Law Journal, New York Magazine, Forbes, Google +, American Bar Association and a few others, to comprise this list of 10 male and 10 female divorce attorneys in New York who are hard-hitting, effective, aggressive, experienced and feared by their peers. But at the same time, clients appreciate their ability to be “empathetic,” “client focused” “straight forward” and “there.”
I can’t think of a single state in the Union whereby a divorce lawyer could get away with dropping the “F” bomb even if indeed it is in a poem to make a point. As for a judge? Ditto
This is why Divorce Saloon’s editors voted Sherri was one of the TITANS-10 for calendar year 2014.
4. You will probably need an expert witness if you are suing for malpractice. That witness would have to testify that what the attorney did in your case was not what a reasonably prudent attorney would have done in the same or similar case. Without an expert witness who will demonstrate this you probably have a tough case that you can’t prove.
Jim Halfens is a Dutch visionary. The Netherlands based entrepreneur has come up with an innovative idea for handling divorce around the world – a concept he’s dubbed THE DIVORCE HOTEL. Launched in 2011 and dismissed as a “gimmick” by some power players in the industry, Mr Halfens has shown that his trademarked idea has staying power and […]
If there are children involved, significant assets and property or other issues, even if the parties agree on everything, it may take longer not only to complete the paperwork (the attorneys) but for the judge to review the papers to make sure they comply with the applicable divorce laws and to make sure that the best interest of the children of the divorce are provided for, and thus sign off on the final judgment.

Google can make or break a divorce lawyer’s career. This is true in New York as much as in other parts of the country and in the rest of the world, no doubt. But in New York, it seems that Google advertising is especially premium. Divorce Lawyers on the first 3 pages of Google (anything after page 3 is really irrelevant if you think about it) are apparently paying close to $20 each time someone clicks on their ads. Can you imagine? That means if 10 people click on the ad, the lawyer has to dish out $200.00 per day! In seven days that is $1,400.00 and there is still no guarantee that the clients will call.
Aside from the occasional female celebrity or female CEO who out-earns her husband, most women make a fraction of what their husbands make; and after a divorce, there is a global trend that men start to have more disposable income, and women skew towards less disposable income. The problem is particularly acute when there are children involved, in spite of child support laws in most countries. So it can be argued that divorce disadvantages women quite significantly – financially speaking. But it may be a Financial advantage for men.

I read with interest this article the other day on the Huffington Post and it was written by divorce lawyer Ms. Etezad Rachman. If a divorce lawyer or solicitor can’t make it rain clients, your divorce practice cannot survive. This is a basic axiom of attorney business development strategists. An attorney has to be able to make it rain. But how? This is hardly a skill practiced or taught in law school. At least it wasn’t in the 1990s. On top of that, family law is a tough and competitive area of law. It has the most lawyers who congregate in it and for that reason, there isn’t enough clients to go around sometmes. This is true locally and internationally as well – even though International Divorce is a little bit less crowded since it requires perhaps a higher level of expertise and sophistication and legal know how.
