TMZ is reporting that rap artist(?) The Dream filed for divorce from his wife Christina Milian just a few days before she gave birth to their daughter Violet. Those papers were filed superior court in Georgia back in February. However, Ms. Milian has allegedly moved to throw those papers out and has filed her own petition, changing the grounds from “irretrievable break down of the marriage” to “adultery.” Is that true? No way to know. But US Magazine seems to think so. Here is what they published on the story just a few days ago:
Earlier this month, Nash blogged that he attempted suicide in the wake of his “failing” marriage.
“I’ve cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I’ve tried to take my own life at a point because of the failure that was looming,” Nash wrote. “This is not to justify anything, it’s true emotion! It’s a real thing that involves real people!”
The couple first wed in a quickie ceremony in September 2009; they had a second, more traditional ceremony in Rome in December. But earlier this month — after photos surfaced of Nash frolicking in the Caribbean with his assistant of one year, Melissa Santiago — the couple announced their separation.
For someone whose marriage cracked up in just nine months (that’s pretty sad, isn’t it?), Christina seems to be taking the whole thing in stride. Photos of her in a blue Nike body suit working out in a park in California have surfaced, showing she’s very much getting on with her life, and is trying to get back in her pre-baby shape. She’s got big smiles on her face. That friends of The Dream are “bullying her on Twitter” is a whole other matter but she seems to be handling that too. So good for her, and best of luck to all concerned.
