Advertisers divorce Fox’s Glen Beck over “racist” Obama comments

Glen Beck apparently called President Obama a racist with a “deep hatred for White people” (huh???) and now advertisers like

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, directed that their commercials not air on Beck’s show, according to the companies and ColorofChange.org, a group that promotes political action among blacks and launched a campaign to get advertisers to abandon him. That’s more than a dozen more than were identified a week ago.

This according to an Associated Press report on Yahoo News today. It is not expected that Beck will suffer any collateral damage to his career as a result, since his viewership increased since he uttered the fighting words speech. But certainly, the quality of advertisers will definitely drop. Which is too bad. And what does he even mean by that? Isn’t Obama’s mother a White woman? I’m almost certain I read that somewhere.
